Welcome to the wilderness experience at Saddle Valley Ranch located at the base of the Sylamore Range District in Ozark National Forest The Leatherwood Wilderness was created in 1984 and contains 16,838 acres on the The Sylamore Range District in Ozark National Forest it lays approx. 15 miles south of Mountain home and 20 miles NW of Mountain View, AR . All roads leading to Us are paved with only 2.5 miles of gravel road.
The Leatherwood Wilderness is bordered by 4 high ridge top roads and The Buffalo National River, the Buffalo River connects the Leatherwood with the Lower Buffalo Wilderness area forming the largest and most remote wilderness system in AR. A Point of interest is the Buffalo National River, this river was the countries FIRST National River and gets it start in the Ozark National Forest it is roughly 150 miles long with nearly 95,000 acres of public land along its corridor, The Buffalo originates in the roughed Boston Mountains in the Ozarks and heads east to join the White River Along its way it descends nearly 2,000 Ft. through layers of sandstone, limestone, and chert.
Another real treat assessable from The Saddle Valley Ranch is The Lower Buffalo Wilderness area a 22,500 acre tract adjoining the leatherwood area and you can expect to see caves, bluffs, waterfalls and old cabin sites. The White River forms the north and east boundary of the Sylamore Range that Saddle Valley Ranch sits just below and is known for its abundance of trout and its scenery, featuring some of the best bluffs in all of the Ozarks this is why our location of the Saddle Valley Ranch is so unique we offer the ability to enjoy these great wilderness adventures by HIKING and HORSEBACK ONLY from our unique and close proximity to this beautiful area.
Fishing on the White river for trout and the Norfork Lake for Bass and Stripers BOTH ... Rivers & Lake are just minutes away... Shopping/Town, Hospital all 30min
